Pro's

  • Grows best in moist and fairly fertile soils
  • It’s more successful in warmer temperatures
  • Most shade tolerant
  • Loves Nitrogen
  • Dark Green in color
  • Does well against weeds and other grasses
  • Requires moderate levels of maintenance, mowing twice a month
  • Potassium has been proven to increase the growth of roots and help with both the drought and cold tolerance.

Con's

  • Cannot take COLD WEATHER very “susceptible to winter kill”
  • Cannot take any traffic
  • Not drought tolerant, requires supplemental irrigation
  • Chinch bugs love it and can kill yard if not treated
  • Pests include white grubs, mole crickets, and brown patch
  • NO GRASS CAN TAKE FULL SHADE
